Chia Tai hands over funds raised from the RabAdapt Collection for students under Yuvabadhana Foundation

Bangkok, 2 June 2022 – In celebration of World Environment Day, Chia Tai Company Limited, Thailand’s leading innovative agricultural company, led by Mr. Prawin Khurowat, Chief Financial Officer and Ms. Anima Tatsajun, General Manager - Corporate Communications, together with Ms. Wishulada Panthanuvong, Social Activist Artist and designer of the RabAdapt Collection, handed over the funds raised from the RabAdapt Collection, which features a variety of lifestyle bags curated from Rabbit Brand Fertilizer sacks, to support Yuvabadhana Foundation, represented by Ms. Thapanee Sinadyodharaks, Director Pankan by Yuvabadhana Foundation, at Pankan shop, Seacon Square Srinakarin branch.

Launched in September 2021, amid the crisis of COVID-19, the RabAdapt Collection aimed to provide support to Thai youths and society during the challenging time through the collaboration with partners, including WISHULADA brand, a group of professional bag makers, and Pankan Shops by Yuvabadhana. The RabAdapt Collection has marked the start of the transformation of Rabbit Brand Fertilizer sacks into lifestyle products via the upcycling process, which involved reusing excess materials to produce brand-new products with a focus on the environment and Circular Economy in a bid to benefit people, society, and environment. The project has now reached its culmination with the fund raised at about 462,000 baht, which will be further provided as scholarships to 66 students at 7,000 baht per student per year. The scholarship aims to increase educational opportunities for needy students who are impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and other unfortunate circumstances.

Moreover, in raising awareness and taking action to protect our environment on World Environment Day, the RabAdapt Collection has helped to reduce waste and promote the concept of Circular Economy. Through the upcycling process, it is estimated that the project reduces the carbon footprint of about 224.9 kg CO2e, equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide 25 trees can absorb per year. The project also provided opportunity for a group of professional bag makers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis to generate income during the challenging time, all of which are in line with Chia Tai’s purpose to enhance people’s quality of life on a sustainable basis.
