Education: Master of Science (Molecular Biology) or related discipline.
Work Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a molecular biology laboratory.
Sample handling, collection and DNA extraction
Use of PCR and restriction enzymes for genetic analysis of plants using SCAR, SSR, CAPS, RFLP, RAPD, AFLP and SNP markers with gel electrophoresis and other marker detection methods to support marker assisted breeding
Support breeders by using genetic theory to estimate population and sample sizes required for an efficient plant breeding program
Generate data for marker assisted selection and marker assisted back-crossing to support the plant breeding program
Identify QTLs and associated markers to support trait introgression
Development of linkage and physical maps for important agronomic traits
Learn and assist with protein and metabolite quantification using analytical chemistry methods
English language requirement: TOEIC > 500 or equivalent.
Location: Kanchanaburi, with view to re-locate to Chiang Mai in 1-2 years.
