Bangkok, 29 October 2020 - Mr. Supat Mekiyanon, Assistant Vice President of Research & Development, represented Chia Tai Co., Ltd., Thailand’s leading innovative agricultural company, as guest speaker to present the agricultural innovation themed "Plant Breeding: Alternative for Survival" in a bid to leverage the knowhow from laboratory to overcome challenges in agriculture. The session took place during the seminar of Technology Chaoban's 33rd anniversary titled "Innovation for New Normal" at Convention Hall, Khaosod Newspaper Headquarter. Chia Tai has continuously focused on plant breeding as its priority in order to achieve the ultimate goal of enhancing agriculture towards its full potential. Such strong effort is aimed at ensuring that farmers can successfully cultivate their crops on a sustainable basis, generate better quality yields with greater efficiency, while also supporting Thai farmers to overcome critical challenges and building professional stability for the agricultural industry alongside food security for consumers.
Furthermore, the event featured exclusive talks on other interesting topics around agriculture, for instance "Innovation-Driven Approach towards Greater Prosperity of Thai Agriculture" by Mr. Alongkorn Ponlaboot, Adviser to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; as well as special talks on innovations for the future by agriculture gurus. Overall, the event has enjoyed positive feedbacks from all the participants, including farmers, university students and interested public.
