The shop is regarded as one of Thailand’s first to market vegetable seeds, and more importantly the origin of “Charoen Pokphand Group”.
We started to market and sell seeds under "Aeroplane Brand”. Aeroplane was in fact considered the most innovative vehicle available at that time.
We started to market and sell chemical fertilizers under “Rabbit Brand”, and later followed by “Buffalo Brand”, “Peacock Brand”, and “Lighthouse Brand”.
We started to market and sell plant protection products under “Lighthouse Brand” as the business at that time needed lights for clear direction guidance. The first product is “Atonic”.
These included hybrid cabbage “K-K Cross”, hybrid radish “Everest”, and hybrid Chinese cabbage “Saladeer”.
This research station focuses on developing hybrid vegetable seeds.
The second research station was founded in Kanchanaburi under the name of “Choncharoen Farm”. It has been the major research center up until now.
These included hybrid cucumber “Model”, and hybrid Chinese cabbage “Bo Ploy” which is the first hybrid brassica seed developed by Thais.
Chia Tai introduced the first hybrid radish seed produced by "Cytoplasmic Male Sterile (CMS)" system.

On 8 December 1999, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (His Majesty’s noble title at that time) graciously designated Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to represent His Majesty in visiting Choncharoen Farm. On this memorable occasion, we are deeply proud of and grateful for the royal grace bestowed upon all Chia Tai people.
Chia Tai Fair is the exhibition to showcase Chia Tai’s agricultural advancement which was first organized at Choncharoen Farm on 25 January – 13 February 2000. This is the start of “Chia Tai Fair”.
The new office and seed processing plant was launched in Om Noi Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. The plant utilizes Asia’s most innovative technologies for seed production and quality control.
Chia Tai is one of Thailand’s first companies certified by ISTA (International Seed Testing Association).
Chia Tai launched the new headquarter located on Sukhumvit 60 Road. With a wide range of modern features, the building demonstrates Chia Tai’s readiness and strength in taking a huge leap towards our centennial.
